Going to the v-e-t was exhausting. It was a lady v-e-t this time. She was nice at first. She was weird tho. She got all excited that Mom brought a zippie bag of my poop with her. Anyway the lady v-e-t says my IBD is acting up bad. It must be, I lost four ounces somewhere. Then the lady v-e-t got mean. She stabbed me TWICE. Then she stabbed me and got water under my skin too! I was glad to get out of there without any more holes in me. Then she gave Mom two bottles of pills for me. Yuk. I got treats when I got home, though and that was nice. And Dr. Tweety came over and snuggled and brought chix-hen broth. I feel better now and I'm hungry. Let's go eat.
Thank you for all the purrs! They helped a lot!
Purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrs,
da Mini
.

(Mom note: She got an antibiotics and a appetite stimulant shot and subQ fluids. The pills are anti-nausea and anti-inflammatory. She seems to feel pretty much normal today. Yay!)

Awww, poor you, Mini! IBD can be so hard to sort out. Slippery Elm Bark (comes in powdered capsules that you can boil up and take via syringe) is good for soothing upset tummies and intestines. Our mom got the recipe from the Yahoo Feline IBD group she used to belong to, 'cause she thought Annie might have IBD at one point a few years ago. (Turned out to be a reaction to some new food she was getting.)
And of course plain pumpkin is very good for firming up stools, which I'm sure your mom already knows.
Good luck; we hope you feel 100% better soon!
Being stabbed is not very nice, but we are glad you are feeling better and eating. We will keep purring for you to feel 100% again.
That is excellent news. I hate to think of other cats not feeling well like I did.
Glad you are home again after all that. We use slippery elm bark too for Minnie who has IBD - we put it powdered in her food everyday.

And they gave you pills - well, they are yuck. BUT we are glad that they are making you feel better - really that is most important! WE are still sending lots of purrs!

Hi Mini, we haven't met before, but I saw on the CB that you were feeling poorly.
Going to the vet is no fun is it Mini, but she will be able to help you get better soon :-)
Mini, we are so glad you are feeling better today, and know it sucks that you got stabbed, but as long as it makes you better it's a good thing.
Hugs, purrs and headbutts,
Sabrina, Sam and Simon
Pepi, can I stop by for a visit? We can both snuggle with Mini to help her feel even better!

We're glad you are feeling better and hungry! Our vet is like that too. Dr Tara's all nice and tells us we're handsome/pretty and then wham! Ear goo and stabbity and touching spots we don't like being touched!
If you're feelingup to it, why don't you and the other Hotties come over and help us trash our place all this weekend! We're raiding the restaurant downstairs every night and getting MEATS!!

oh noes Mini - getting stabbed and wet and stuff stinks! we's glad you's feeling better though!
Miss Mini, we hope you're feeling all better real soon. Our mom says that those anti-nausea pills are da bomb - she had them for TOWCB when he got real bad sick, and they helped him lots. None of us have had to deal with IBD, and we're real sorry you have it. You deserve lots of treats!!
Your friends, Fuzzy and Zoe
oh noes Mini - getting stabbed and wet and stuff stinks! we's glad you's feeling better though!
We hope the stabs and fluids and pills help, soon!
Poor Mini! Big purrs being sent ... Hope she is on her way to feeling a lot better.
'Kaika's mom here: I have tried both colostrum powder and slippery elm syrup and both seem to help IBS/IBD kitties. I'm also using a Chinese herbal formula I got from our acupuncturist for my IBS kitty and it has helped her.
Lots and lots of purrs and purrayers for your IBD flare up! Maya and Chevelle sometimes have IBD problems, but the food, Royal Canin Special 33 really helps them!
Oh no, the vet STABBED you?! How can that not be counted as assault with a deadly weapon? Oh well, I guess if it makes you feel better, it's not a deadly weapon. I am glad all this is helping you, and I'm sending you purrs to help your recovery.
We're glad you are on the mend!!

Mini, we are so sorry that you had to go to the V-E-T. And even worse, you got stabbed and fluids. Yikes. But glad to hear that you are a little better. One of us has IBD and is managed very nicely with steriods. But hope you continue to improve Mini. Take care.
We hope you gets feeling lots and lots better and will send healing purrs to you. We don't even have to go to the V.E.T to get shots most of the times cuz me big human sissy works as a vet tech. Yuck.
